The new web portal of the Fondazione Cervia In

“Cervia In” is the newly established foundation tasked with leading and developing the management, promotion and tourism enhancement of Cervia–Milano Marittima.

A major commitment born from the will of the Municipality of Cervia, together with the combined efforts of six operators: Consorzio Welcome Cervia, Terme di Cervia, Cooperativa Bagnini Cervia, Atlantide Soc. Coop. Sociale, Adriatic Golf Club Cervia and Forlì Airport srl. The initiative is also supported by Mirabilandia and Cassa di Ravenna.

When unity is strength

Cervia–Milano Marittima is a seaside destination of key importance within Italy’s coastal tourism landscape. A historic location on the famous Adriatic Riviera, it is appreciated by Italian visitors and, above all, international guests.

Although the destination was certainly well established, something was still missing: a recognizable digital identity. That’s where Kumbe Human to Digital came in.

It all starts here: a destination brand

A strong destination management project begins with a careful values-based analysis that brings out the uniqueness, characteristics and distinctive features of the tourist destination.

Even before building discovercervia.com, we needed a well-defined image, understood as a concrete project to develop and start communicating both internally to operators, the local community and stakeholders, and externally to guests and tourists.

That’s how the new Discover Cervia brand was born. Much more than a logo, it is the expression of a territory eager to grow and tell its story through its true identity: a complete, elegant destination, growth-oriented, with a digitally advanced tourism offering.

Elegance and vision

We designed a new logo able to represent Cervia at its most all-encompassing.

A concept expressed visually through simple, clean lines with a vintage feel, with a touch of irreverence in the “A”, which immediately recalls sea waves.

A logo that conveys elegance and warmth at the same time, keeping the sea blues as its colors, the signature element of Cervia–Milano Marittima’s tourism offering.

Tone of voice

Cervia is elegant, exotic, enthusiastic and original.

It is the combination of these traits, translated into a distinct language and writing style, that brings out the destination’s uniqueness.

Cervia speaks in the first person singular to feel closer to the reader and immediately create a warm, authentic connection, just like the atmosphere you breathe in Romagna.

What should a destination tourism portal be like? For Discover Cervia, we started with analysis and a content architecture designed to highlight the destination’s unique features.

One of the most common challenges for DMOs is simplifying the presentation of a large and complex volume of content.

Less is more

A carefully planned information architecture, developed together with the Kumbe team and the Fondazione Cervia In team, made this possible.

The goal and request was to create a digital project capable of refreshing the image of Cervia–Milano Marittima, presenting it as a well-organized destination with an atmosphere that is elegant, relaxing and lively at the same time.

Different souls of the territory blend harmoniously into a web portal that tells, informs and invites visitors to explore.

The design of this web portal is consistent with the new brand that was created. The key words are cleanliness and linearity.

The management and sale of outdoor experiences and holiday packages handled by the Fondazione Cervia In is made possible through the integration with TrekkSoft.
Making a web portal effective in terms of promotion and commercialization is essential for every DMO.

Integration with the Emilia-Romagna Region website

A dedicated section pulls in events from the Emilia-Romagna Region’s official tourism website. Control remains directly with Discover Cervia, which can decide which events to display, ensuring high-quality information for users.

To help organize a holiday in Cervia–Milano Marittima also through tour operators, associations and groups, we created a dedicated section.

The goal is to provide tailored proposals for groups choosing Cervia as a venue for activities, team building and conferences.

Landing customized

In addition, Fondazione Cervia In also needed the ability to offer ad hoc content depending on specific needs.

We therefore enabled the creation of customized landing pages that support communication and promotion of the most relevant clusters.

 Examples include landing pages for cruise holidays, wellness breaks at the thermal baths, and golf-focused vacations.

Meta & Google Advertising

For a digital project to be truly complete and high-performing, it needs social media marketing and social advertising. Today, organic social communication alone isn’t enough to promote a destination and make it truly spread, advertising is essential.

To strengthen the destination’s communication and promotion, we planned a social advertising strategy aimed at increasing the DMO’s brand awareness and encouraging the purchase of experiences and activities.

To complete the digital communication, we also manage the social channels, using a language based on the Tone of Voice we created, so as to deliver coordinated communication that enhances the DMO’s recognizability.

K•Tips: a Digital Concierge for the destination

For the project dedicated to Cervia–Milano Marittima, Kumbe helped create a true digital ecosystem by proposing and delivering an innovative digital concierge as well.

This tool supports tourists on site with information and personalized inspiration.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Fondazione Cervia In per il Turismo, hotels can also adopt K•Tips, sharing content through the app, interactive totems and videos, improving the guest experience within the property.

We also created tabletop cards to distribute to all local operators to promote K•Tips and make it easier for guests to use.
